Almost three months ago I resigned from my position as a staff photographer at the Wichita Eagle....so, what have I been doing?
Our wedding business is growing and this fall has been a sign of some good things that are coming. We shot a beautiful traditional Pakistan wedding that was very cool, as well as two others that were just as awesome.
I have started my commercial side of business and just finished a project that gave me complete control of the shoots. Awesome! My client list is growing as I have got the chance to shoot for some pretty cool companies.
Of course I have to shoot sports to be happy and I have got to keep my hand in that for several different publications, but my teaching has been the most satisfying of all of the stuff I am doing. Workshops in KC, here and other places are really lots of fun. I trained a 12 year-old this summer, so far she has won first and third place at the Kansas State Fair and first place and third place at Botanica in their annual contest. This makes me VERY happy!
Needless to say I have been busy, and I love my new gig, love it. I miss the newspaper, but this new chapter is something that I have wanted for quite sometime. My family has been so supportive, I am truly blessed.

Family photos
I spend so much of my time shooting basketball this time of the year, or working our Wichita wedding photography business that I forget to take my camera to family events. This is a shot of my mother and my sister-in-law I shot on Sunday....a great celebration and neat little shot! Happy birthday girls.

New Blog/Old Blog
http://wichitaweddingdayphotography.blogspot.com/
Check it out, it is our new blog, the web will be up soon. Until then, this is back to my site. No weddings, just photo talk. Photography rocks and I am ready to share some pics with everyone. My latest thing was spending the day as the raptor center in Cheney, Kansas. Wow, I was in a cage with three bald eagles, all flying over my head, it was awesome. I shot this photograph of a rehabilitated hawk catching mice in the air as it was thrown from Ken Lockwood. Enjoy.

2010!!!!

2010....bring it on! The Tuttle family blueprints have been drawn up and things are not going to hold us back. We have a plan....First, the extension of our Wichita wedding business with Steve and Corbin Rasmussen, 2009 taught us a few things and 2010 will give us a chance to do what we do best. If you know of someone that is getting married give us a call, our books are second to none.
One part of the business that Mrs. Tuttle and I want to expand to is photography lessons. Yep, starting in 2010 we will begin private photography and editing sessions. I am seeing too many people buying expensive cameras and not knowing how to use them. There will be some group classes too, but not directly through me, just private lessons with the photographer and myself in the area or areas that the shooter wants to explore. I already have a couple of students and have room for a few more. These sessions are designed for the student's experience and ability, but I do ask that the student have a digital SLR camera. Give us a call.
We are also taking on more portrait assignments, seniors, family portraits, kids, dogs, you name it, we will and would love to help you out. I have been shooting quite a few of these over the years, but we are now opening that up for more appointments than we have had in the past.
The Wichita Eagle, still there, still love my job as a photojournalist, always have, always will.
